
The HQCA conducts studies and reviews of various facets of Alberta’s healthcare system. This work helps us fulfill the following areas of our mandate:
- the gathering of information and evidence, including by means of research activities and reviews,
- the evaluation of programs and other initiatives, and
- the synthesis, dissemination, and exchange of knowledge relating to patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality in Alberta;
- identify effective practices and make recommendations for the improvement of patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality;
- assist in the implementation and evaluation of activities, strategies and mechanisms designed to improve patient safety, person-centred care, and health service quality.
